Hello, I’m John Lichtenthal Jr. and thank you for taking the time to view my business page.

My inspiration behind creating JDI was simple—I believe that it’s alright to embrace skills that span far beyond the bounds of a single discipline and passion. I often attribute this to the moniker I’m often referred to as, a “Jack of all trades.”

JohnDoesIt (JDI) is an owner-operated multi-disciplined umbrella company offering a variety of services ranging from custom carpentry and handyman services for our residential customers and business and marketing consultation services for our small business owners. 

My respect and passion for home repair and handyman services goes back to my early youth while learning from my Papa Earl who was a Master Handyman. If something needed to be fixed or done, odds are that man knew how to do it, or had a book to figure out how to get it done with precision. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry—you name it, that man could do it all. 

From my dealings with many contractors over the years, I began to see certain trends that stood out. The ones who were the best at running their business(es), weren’t the best at doing the work in their respective fields and vice versa, the ones who were the best in their respective fields weren’t the best at running their business(es).

Naturally seeing this as both a problem and an opportunity, I decided then that if I were to ever go out on my own with the sole purpose of helping others, this is where I would start… and with that thought in mind, JohnDoesIt was born!
